At past WASPAAs, oral vs poster session assignments were based on topics and not on paper quality. This year, we have decided to implement the following changes:
- All papers will be presented as posters.
- A few papers which received top scores during the review process will be selected to give Spotlight presentations during the oral sessions.
Spotlight (oral) presentation format
If your paper was accepted for Spotlight presentation, please prepare both for a talk and a poster (sorry!). Presentation time is critical: each paper is allocated 12 minutes for presentations and 3 minutes for Q&A, plus switching to the next presentation. A PC with Windows OS and a projector will be provided for lecture sessions. Presenters who want to use this PC for their presentation should upload their presentation files to it prior to their sessions. Presenters who want to use their own laptops for their presentation should connect their laptops during the question-answering time of the previous presentation.
The projector’s native resolution is 4:3, but it can project 16:9 content without issue.
Poster presentation format
The time for each poster session is 2 hours. The size of a poster board is 48″(W) x 48″(H) (1.21 m x 1.21 m), so your poster should be smaller than this. The title and author lists of each paper should be indicated on the top of the poster. The presenters are recommended to make the print easy to read from a distance.
If you wish to print your poster locally and have it delivered at the venue, you can work with Atomic Printing, a local printing business in Tahoe City. Granlibakken will pick up the posters on Friday, October 10, and they will be waiting for you at the hotel. You will need to work directly with the printing company, including payment, according to the details given below:
Color Prints:
24"x36" $25 on poster paper or $13.5 on normal paper
30”x42” $30 on poster paper or $15 on normal paper
36”x48” $50 on poster paper or $25 on normal paper
Black & White Prints:
24”x36” $10 on poster paper or $5 on normal paper
30”x42” $14 on poster paper or $7 on normal paper
36”x48” $24 on poster paper or $12 on normal paper

Demo presentation format
Demos will take place during the After-Dinner Reception on Monday night. Presenters will be able to use a poster board similar to those used in the poster sessions, as well as a table.
