Free Shuttle to/from Tahoe City – TART Connect
There is a free “on demand” shuttle to travel between Granlibakken and Tahoe City center, TART Connect, operated by the Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit. To request a ride, download the APP and reserve your trip, or just call: (530) 553-0653. The service operates between 6:30am and 10:00pm.

All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are provided during the workshop, from Sunday’s dinner to Wednesday’s lunch. Breakfast will also be provided on other dates. However, please note that there will be no lunch/dinner service at Granlibakken outside the workshop (e.g., no lunch on Sunday 10/12, no dinner on Wednesday 10/15, etc). There are many local options nearby, notably in Tahoe City.
We highly recommend Tahoe House Bakery & Gourmet for breakfast/lunch.

Serves pizza, a wide selection of salads and tasty bites. Right on the lake in Tahoe City. - Mountain Slice Pizzeria – Closed the month of October for a fall break (this is tragic, the pizza here is amazing)

Rosie’s Café prides itself on bridging the gap between fine dining and fast food, offering something for everyone. From fresh salads and hearty burgers to steaks, pasta, seafood, pizza, and vegetarian options, there’s a dish to satisfy every craving. One of the few spots on the lake is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

From hiking the famous Rubicon Trail to biking along the lake or exploring Emerald Bay State Park—with its iconic Vikingsholm Castle and Fannette Island—there’s something for everyone to experience. Visit this breathtaking destination for panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, the unique island crowned by Vikingsholm, and the nearby Lower Eagle Falls.
Hiking
Granlibakken is surrounded by abundant hiking trails—many that right at the resort or within a 10–15-minute drive. The Front Desk team can provide maps and personalized recommendations.
Two local favorites include Eagle Rock and the renowned Tahoe Rim Trail, a 165-mile route circling the Tahoe Basin with incredible vistas. Many trailheads allow for short scenic hikes or longer adventures.
You might also enjoy a relaxed, 25-minute walk to Tahoe City for shopping, dining, and beautiful lake views at Commons Beach.
